Mirabelle Photography Blog bio picture
  • WELCOME!

My name is Mirabelle. I am a Professional Photographer for the last 15 years. A Web Designer for the last 3 years. A French Canadian from Montreal for the last 37 years.. A California resident since 2012. A ex- Milwaukee resident from 2000-2012. A crazy animal lover. A travel enthusiast. An Avid book reader. Christmas and smiling is my favorite !

This blog is my new adventure. I realized I have something to say and put out there. I have skills and love to help. So this will be my vehicle to share all my knowledge, ideas and opinions.

I will blog about photography, designs. web designs, life ( at least mine ), my love of colors and everything and anything that speaks to me. I will be sharing some of my templates and Photoshop & Lightroom Actions. The idea here is to help any photographer out there, from a mother who wants to take better portraits of her kids, to a professional photographer who might want help with templates to showcase her/ his work.

One last thing, sometime my french take over and my grammar or sentences might be less than perfect, but I promise to keep my posts true to who I am and informative.
And sometimes I will simply just show MY work.

The Hartford, summer 2014

darcieblog2

When I first met Darcie, she was a french student of mine. She is smart, kind, stylist and funny.

She became someone I am proud to call a friend.

Once she got pregnant with Emma, I was glad to do that maternity session. Then Christmas card session follow and family portraits over summer visits.

Last summer I got to meet her little sweet boy.  Every shoots is different, fun and I love every minute of them.

The Hartford are one of my favorite family to shoot. As I was editing this session, I was amazed at Emma and how great of a big sister she is.

I also love some of the moments that I capture between Emma and her dad. Laughing and cuddling.

Some of those shots are sweet and others simply demonstrate how this family is loving and caring for each other.

Darcie and Ben are such caring and loving parents and it is always a pleasure to capture those souvenirs.

The Richards ! summer 2014

loriBlog

One of the best part of being a photographer and being lucky enough to do portraits, for me at least, is that you see people grow, change and become more confortable in front of your lens.

The Richards are an example of this.

Every year since Lori was pregnant with her first baby, I have been taking portrait of her family. And every year I leave the session with a smile and a feeling of warmth in my heart. Seeing this family grow has been a pleasure.

Now, Sylvia knows me and his comfortable with me. She laugh and gives me that huge grin that I love so much.

Every year though we get a mini meltdown. Which is a tradition now. Lori and I get a kick out of having a shot of Sylvia’s meltdown over the years. From the one year old who needs her stuff animal in the shot to the little girl who just lost her yellow balloon, every year Sylvia has a moment of pure sadness where she crumbles on the ground and cries. Then 5 minutes later, she is up and smiling again. And every year we have that moment on film.

The Richards are kind, funny and a great family. I now call them my friends.

Here are a few images of this year’s session.
